All amateur events are sanctioned by the OBA:
All the fighters have been licensed by the OBA. The Ontario Boxing Association was formed in January of 2006 to offer an alternative for Ontario boxers. The OBA offers their members fair treatment & equal opportunities without bias throughout their boxing career. Advancement from amateur to professional is customary & the OBA offers a faster track to that goal for those that want to box professionally. The OBA boasts some of the best coaches in the country & the members of the OBA elect all the Board members which discourages a dictatorship. Originally the OBA was formed Sept. 1947 & accepts members who are dedicated to the sport of boxing or who want to be part of a growing association that cares.
